On my twenty fourth birthday, my friend Susan sent me a shoebox. Sneakers for my birthday? No, no, they were delicious lemon poppyseed muffins! The muffins inspired a song, which inspired another song, which inspired another....

Basically, none of my songs would have been written -- this EP may never have existed -- were it not for those muffins. Thank you, Susan! When a butterfly flaps its wings...

But not after I've tasted Susan's poppyseed muffins
You peel away the foil, smell that lemon zing

There's crinkly silver foil wrapped on every single muffin.

The day after my birthday could've been an anti-climax:
It rained. I thought I'd see a 3D movie at the IMAX.
But Susan sent me something that looked sweeter than molasses.
I didn't even have to wear those funny-looking glasses!
